The following short video of my 12y/o stepson was taken shortly after shooting his first deer on Sunday, November 8th at approximately 6:55am. I was mentoring him in the woods when the action took place. Hopefully, you can still see the excitement on his face and in his voice.
Please note: the baby sounds you hear are Luke’s 16–month old sister out in the woods helping him celebrate his achievement. Also, a point of clarification. The reason the deer wasn’t immediately eviscerated was because we were waiting for another first-time hunter to arrive from his stand so he could also be coached in the proper method of field dressing a deer.
