Savage Model 10MLSS .50 Caliber Muzzleloader Rifle Blown Up
via www.downrange.tv
I was going to make a post on this apparent accident, but the E-mail I received today was completely absent any pertinent information pertaining to the incident. Instead, I linked to this forum, courtesy of Michael Bane and DownRange.TV, as it shows all the same pictures and has some good follow-up commentary by the forum members.
The point to emphasize here is don't get caught up so much in the details about the gun maker or how/why this accident happened (although, personally I might be inclined to avoid Savage muzzleloaders that claim they can shoot smokeless powder). Without the necessary facts we can only speculate as to what actually happened. Instead, use this as a graphical learning experience to remind each of us about the potential hazards involved with shooting firearms of any kind. DON'T TAKE SAFETY FOR GRANTED!!
WARNING: If you follow the link above (the one directly under the picture) you will see some very graphic pictures depicting a hand injury apparently resulting from this mishap. This blog posting is definitely not for the squeamish.

I have seen accidents when people are cleaning their firearms and end up loosing their loved ones accidentally
I have designed a chamber flag to reduce accidents during law enforcement and military training. The K5 weapon safety device glows in the dark, is flexible and one size fits almost every calibre handgun semi auto rifle and carbine. It is also ideal for the home and the range.
It is very affordable too …

That true people now take everything for granted and i think this is not right to do specially fire arms. People end up losing their own or loved ones life while cleaning their fire arms people should take care of such thing. thanks for sharing this important information!
PCs can do a lot of “fun stuff”. I would say that the most common argument I’ve heard as to why people won’t leave Windows for Mac or Linux is “Well, I’m a gamer, see, and I need to play my games”. The PC is, for now, the best gaming platform short of a console. I can’t say I game much myself.
That’s very unfortunate that people have lost their lives while cleaning or playing it with their fire arms. I have seen pictures and read about it that loose their lives while caring about these weapons like dear ones. I think people should use their mind rather than doing stupid things.

It is very important that when you clean or seeing these fire arms you should be very careful because there are number accidents that have occurred and should never take take such weapons for granted.
