The Perfect Mother’s Day Gift…Well, Maybe!

PinktackleboxHey guys…a quick glance at the calendar shows that Mother’s Day is only about three weeks away.   Got any great ideas this year besides the usual boring arrangement of flowers or perfume?   Looking for something a bit out of the ordinary?   How about a stylish (and did I mention PINK) new tackle-box.   Yup, that’s right…why not get her something she absolutely wouldn’t purchase for herself.   I hear these new Tackle-Tech numbers have become very popular in fishing circles in recent years.   Can’t you just picture mom proudly carrying her NEW PINK tackle-box from the car to the boat?   Well, okay…then how about this little item.

Sticking with the fishing theme.   Okay, now I know what you’re probably thinking…this item is for kids.   And you’re right.   But hey, moms should be allowed to have a little fun, too.   Besides, I can guarantee you that when mom hits the waters with this little number she will become instantly popular with all the kids.   For additional details check out the Rocket Fishing Rod.Rocketfishingrod   It must be good.   Heck, Roland Martin even endorses it.   Suspect he hasn’t won any bass fishing tournaments using it, though.

Now I might suggest that if you get mom either one of these little items you maybe have a back-up gift of, say a gift certificate to a favorite restaurant or to the spa handy, just in case she doesn’t immediately see the value in the main gift.

Last year I bought my wife a new fishing rod and reel for Mother’s Day and got away with it.   Of course, now that I think about it the outfit also came with the promise we would spend a week away last summer in northern Minnesota vacationing at an expensive resort.   Hmmm…maybe I should reconsider this whole gift idea…maybe the traditional gift of flowers or perfume really isn’t such a bad concept after all.
