Blogging For StarTribune.com
Dear Blog Readers,
About a week ago I teased that a big announcement was soon coming about this blog. Actually, the announcement is about another blog I am starting very soon.
Here’s the deal. Back in early February I was contacted by staff at the Minneapolis Star Tribune about my potential interest in doing some outdoors blogging for their website. Negotiations and training have been underway and now the venture is about to launch starting on Monday, May 4th. Their revamped online outdoors section will for the first time include blogging as a way to disseminate outdoor information to the public. The newspaper is calling it CLUB OUTDOORS.
At this point in time I’m not sure what the exact links will be to access the site, but come Monday the following link should become active: http://www.startribune.com/outdoors/blogs
I’m very honored to have the opportunity to blog for this top 20 newspaper in the nation. More importantly, I’m humbled to know that it was this blog (Sportsman’s Blog) that served as my online resume, of sorts, as the opportunity came to me totally unsolicited.
Moving forward, I will continue this blog but will likely use it for general outdoor matters that have more of a national interest. I suspect most of my blogging done for the newspaper will instead have a Minnesota (or at least an upper Midwest) appeal.
Once again, I want to thank all my loyal blog readers over the years. It is my sincere hope that you will not only check out my new blog venture (once it goes live)…but that you will continue with me here on this site as we close in on our 5th anniversary coming in September. Good huntin’ and fishin’.
