HUMOR: An E-mail Simply Too Good NOT To Be True

Finally, some honesty in big buck photo competitions.

FakeDeer

Here’s a unaltered picture of the soon-to-be new world record whitetail.   It was taken by the cousin of a co-worker’s sister’s, uncle’s, best friend’s, son-in-law’s cousin.   Reportedly it will score 2603-1/8 by B&C standards and was shot in West Texas on a really windy day around a curve.   Supposedly, this deer had killed a brahma bull, two Land Rovers and six door-to-door salesmen[changed to protect the innocent] in the last two weeks alone.   They said it was winning a fight with bigfoot when it was finally shot.

Blogger’s Note: I take no credit for either the photo or the copy…just passing along a bit of Email humor on this hump day.

Taking First Prize Doesn’t Mean You Have All The Luck

White Bear Press: Ice fisherman can't afford first-prize truck

WHITE BEAR LAKE – Dan Goerges caught a five-pound northern to win the St. Paul Winter Carnival Ice Fishing Contest but the first prize pickup truck slipped off his hook.

Goerges, a White Bear resident, said he couldn’t afford the tax payout required to take home the Dodge four-wheel-drive truck. Goerges recently lost his job as a forklift operator when Anchor Block closed operations in North St. Paul…

…Goerges said the sales tax, licensing, income and other tax pay outs associated with winning a new $27,000 truck were too much to cover without a regular weekly paycheck. Instead he was able to cut a deal with tournament sponsor Bernard’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep in New Richmond, Wis. for a $17,000 cash prize.

Sometimes even when a person wins big…it can still feel like you've been a loser.   Interesting situation Dan found himself in.
